Description
The password used for accessing the application has been lost /
forgotten.
User cannot access application settings, uninstall or update the
application.
Solution
In order to restore the password:
- Reboot
the PC in safe mode.
- Go
to application installation folder (C:\Program Files\Kaspersky
Lab\<application_name>).
- Rename
the file avp.exe (into temp.exe, for example).
- Reboot
the PC in normal mode.
- Run
the renamed file (temp.exe).
- Click Settings in the main application window.
- Select Options in the left frame.
- Uncheck
the following boxes in the right frame:
- Enable Self-Defense (Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows
Servers / Workstations 6.0.4.x only).
- Enable password protection
